1. Who we are

PetSo ("PetSo", "we", "us", "our") is operated by PetSo Sdn. Bhd., with a registered business address at Unit 3A-01A, Glo Damansara, 699, Jln Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are the data controller for the personal information processed through the PetSo mobile application, the PetSo website and the PetSo Signal device (together, the "Services").

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email address, password (hashed), phone number (optional), country and language preference.
  • Pet profile information — pet name, species, breed, date of birth, sex, weight, photo and health notes you choose to add.
  • Device & sensor data — activity, motion, temperature, ambient data and battery telemetry from your PetSo Signal device.
  • Location data — approximate or precise location of the paired phone and/or Signal device, only when you enable location-based features.
  • Usage & diagnostics — app interactions, crash logs, device model, OS version, language and IP address.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Support communications — messages you send to support@petso.ai and related metadata.

3. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, maintain and improve the Services.
  • Generate the wellness insights, alerts and reports about your pet.
  • Process orders, subscriptions, warranty and replacements.
  • Send service announcements, security alerts and support messages.
  • Send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can opt out at any time).
  • Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations under Malaysian and applicable foreign law.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where the laws of Malaysia (PDPA 2010) or other jurisdictions require a lawful basis, we rely on: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) your consent; (c) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers (cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, payments, email/SMS).
  • Professional advisors and auditors under confidentiality.
  • Authorities when required by law, court order or to protect rights and safety.
  • Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

6. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside Malaysia. Where it is, we take appropriate safeguards in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and other applicable laws.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls, audit logging and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your devices updated.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; withdraw consent; or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@petso.ai.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
